A bit of sadness on Snape's birthday [Jan. 9th, 2008|10:06 am]

It occurred to me that since we don't know the exact date of the Battle of Hogwarts, we can't be certain of what date to hold any sort of memorial or fic event. At least, I don't recall reading what date it was.

Happy Birthday, Severus Snape. We all miss you.

And because Snape rarely if ever gets anything for himself, my thoughts are also with the various people known and unknown to me who have passed over the years.

I think JKR said in an interview that the final battle was 2 May. Of course, she also said, I think, that someone died in 1997 when it should have been 1998, but anyway. *shrug* I've never been good at listening to her interviews anyway. ^_~

Me too. She completely lost my attention after the first long string of interviews and revelations which is a shame, really. And I still don't understand how she can write such amazing characters and not understand their potential.

Well, at least we have fic to console ourselves with, and lots of it involves methods which he could have survived.

After HBP, I hadn't thought his chances of survival were that high. Granted, I did expect him to be present at the final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort... :/
